Usually workbook contains not only formulas and charts, but named ranges too. In the complex spreadsheet models Names collection may contain thousands of items. xlCompare visually compares and merges names between 2 workbooks. In several minutes you will have all names merged. Also, xlCompare allows you to edit or delete names from workbook, so you can not only compare names - you can use xlCompare to edit names in your spreadsheet.

To compare names in your should use Compare Names ribbon button in the Excel 2007/2010:

To start comparison you must select workbooks which will be compared:

and press Run button.

xlCompare displays all Names in the selected workbooks and marks differences.

• Added names are marked with green "Plus" icon
• Deleted names are marked with red "Delete" icon
• Modified names are marked with "Pencil" icon
