Comparison Options.
xlCompare allows you to choose how cells should be compared. Command Options | Comparison Options ...
shows available options:
Formulas - when this option is selected, xlCompare compares formulas. If formulas are different cells are marked as changed.
Values - when this option is selected, xlCompare compares values. If cells has different values they are marked as changed.
If you need to find only changed input values it is recommended to exclude formulas from the comparison. Input
values does not have formulas, so changed formulas will not be present in the Comparison Report.
To find only changed formulas, excluding changed values you should exclude values from the comparison.
xlCompare marks added, deleted and changed items with color. In this dialog you can select
formatting options applied each type of difference.
By default xlCompare uses thin diagonal stripe shown on the image above.
Change button opens Style Options dialog where you can set the formatting options you need.
You can use:
- Bold Font
- Font Color
- Background Color
- Thin Diagonal Stripe pattern
Selected formatting settings are also applied to the Excel cells when you use Mark Differences command.
